>> Save the event in your calendar
Ahead of the May 21 federal election, the Development Policy Center will host a series of campaign forums on international development.
The forums are intended to provide political parties with an opportunity to voice their platform and priorities for Australia’s international development cooperation and humanitarian assistance programmes. They are also an opportunity for stakeholders, the media and the general public to hear from candidates on these issues and obtain clarification on specific party policies and commitments ahead of the election.
This first Election Forum on International Development will feature Australian Greens Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Senator Janet Riceand spokesperson for international aid and development, Senator Mehreen Faruqi.
After an address by senators, there will be a moderated discussion with a small number of guests in person. The discussion will be moderated by a communications specialist and award-winning television journalist, writer and commentator, Virginie Haussegger AM.
The Forum will be streamed live via the Development Policy Centre’s YouTube channel.
The Election Forums on International Development is a joint initiative of the Development Policy Center at ANU Crawford School of Public Policy, the Australian Council for International Development and the international development entrepreneur community.
In-person participation is by invitation only.
The second forum will feature Opposition Shadow Minister for International Development and the Pacific, MP Pat Conroy.
