Ahead of the May 21 federal election, the Development Policy Center will co-host a series of campaign forums on international development.
The forums are intended to provide political parties with an opportunity to voice their platform and priorities for Australia’s international development cooperation and humanitarian assistance programmes. They are also an opportunity for stakeholders, the media and the general public to hear from candidates on these issues and obtain clarification on specific party policies and commitments ahead of the election.
This third Forum will feature the Coalition’s Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Senator the Honorable Zed Seselja.
After a speech by the senator, there will be a moderated discussion with a small number of guests in person. The discussion will be moderated by former ABC journalist, host and researcher Louise Maher.
The Forum will be streamed live via the Development Policy Centre’s YouTube channel.
The Election Forums on International Development is a joint initiative of the Development Policy Center at ANU Crawford School of Public Policy, the Australian Council for International Development and the international development entrepreneur community.
In-person participation is by invitation only.
The first forum includes Australian Greens Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Senator Janet Rice, and International Aid and Development Spokesperson, Senator Mehreen Faruqi. The second is presented by the Opposition Shadow Minister for International Development and the Pacific, MP Pat Conroy.
