Leon, Guanajuato, February 23, 2022.- The State Secretary of Health has recognized physicians who have satisfactorily completed their preparation as specialists and sub-specialists in hospitals that are the headquarters of the state agency.

This Wednesday, the Secretary of Health, Daniel Díaz Martínez, presented the awards to specialist professors from different branches of medicine in the auditorium of the Regional Hospital of León.

Additionally, he extended special recognition to the first generation of physicians graduating from the subspecialty of Medicine for the Critically Ill and their professors for achieving fourth place nationwide in the 2022 certification exam. .

There are 40 graduates in Anaesthesiology, General Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Internal Medicine, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Radiodiagnosis, Traumatology and Orthopedics, and Critical Medicine.

Edith Romero Trujillo, one of the graduates in internal medicine, pointed out that the first few months were complicated by seeing the pain much closer, but it was worth it when a patient thanks you for the care received.

“It was years of hard work, many people say we are a great generation entering this residence we have always had the humility to help our patients who have always been and should be our driving force”.

Efraín Olivos Navarro, director of education, pointed out that new positions have been opened for resident doctors, they will be rewarded for this great effort since they are now integrated into the work with better knowledge to be able to help more and more the patients.

The event was attended by the rector of the León campus, director of the health sciences division and postdoctoral coordinator; director of the National School of Graduate Studies, Leon Unit, of the National Autonomous University of Mexico; director of the General Hospital of León, director of the Comprehensive Mental Health Care Center of León, professors with specialized courses, qualified resident doctors.

In his message, the Secretary of Health, Daniel Díaz, highlighted the need to develop human capital for specialized medical attention oriented to the expert management of the most important epidemiological problems, as well as attention to health risks as background factor. for the development of medical services and units.

He urged the new specialists to watch over the bioethical principles of their profession and to give priority to the preservation of the very life of the patients, you are principles that must never be forgotten, in addition to enjoying contributing to the training new generations and leaving a legacy of knowledge.
