Gubernatorial Candidate Forums at your fingertips

Yes, it’s party season, but it’s also governor forum season. There are at least three on tap in the coming days.

On Monday evening, the Maryland Democratic Party rallies its gubernatorial candidates at a forum in Waldorf that will focus on economic issues. Seating is limited to see the candidates in person, but the State Party will be streaming the forum live on Facebook. The forum will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tracee Wilkins, Prince George County Bureau Chief of NBC News4, will serve as moderator.

Meanwhile, the Maryland State Bar Association is hosting hour-long one-on-one conversations with Democratic, Republican, and Libertarian gubernatorial candidates over a five-day period, Dec. 6-10, which will coincides with the scheduled special session of the General Assembly. take place in Annapolis on the redistricting of Congress.

Former State Senator Robert A. Zirkin (D-Baltimore County), who chaired the Court Proceedings Committee, will interview the candidates during one-on-one sessions, to be held at Stevenson University’s Inscape Theater Greenspring Valley Campus in Baltimore County. Interviews can be viewed in person or on multiple online platforms.

Also on Dec. 10, the annual Montgomery Committee Legislative Breakfast will feature a forum with Republican and Democratic gubernatorial candidates. The breakfast, traditionally one of the biggest political schmoozefests of the year in Maryland, is billed as the curtain-raiser for Montgomery County’s big legislative push in the upcoming General Assembly session and includes speeches by county leaders as well as a legislative program.

The format of the nominees forum – and the full list of nominees – has yet to be announced. The event takes place at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
