LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Political newsletters are a waste

MPs’ and MPs’ newsletters are a rare reminder of their work, letter writer says

For the editor,

Re: New MP costing Nanaimo taxpayers, Letters, January 26.

Yes, we know that MPs and MPs regularly send interested newsletters without any important information. This is the only proof they exist – until the next election. They are a total waste of money and should be discontinued.

As for the career changes that occur regularly; they seem more motivated by opportunism and personal ambition than by service to the community. We deserve better from someone earning $185,600.
