Students and community invited to open forums with presidential candidate

The search for Auburn University’s next president may soon be coming to an end, as Samuel Ginn College of Engineering Dean Chris Roberts is the only candidate being considered at this time.

Over the next two days, Roberts will meet with Auburn students, faculty, staff and community members before traveling to Montgomery to meet with Governor Kay Ivey and students from Auburn University in Montgomery. .

Meetings open to the public have their time in bold.

Thursday, January 20:

1 p.m.-1:45 p.m.: In the ballroom of the Melton Student Center, located on the third floor, Roberts will participate in a forum open to all members of the public.

2-2:45 p.m.: In the Oak Room of the Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center, Roberts will have a meeting with the leaders of the University Senate and the American Associate of University Professors.

3-3:45 p.m.: In the Oak Room, Roberts will then meet with the leaders of the Administrative and Professional Assembly and the Staff Council.

4-4:45 p.m.: In the Oak Room, Roberts will meet with Provost Bill Hardgrave and college deans.

5-6.30 p.m.: In the Galloway Atrium of the Auburn Alumni Center, a reception will be held for members of the university, community and alumni.

Friday January 21:

8-8:45 a.m.: In the Legacy Ballroom of the Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center, Roberts will meet with the President’s Cabinet.

9am-9.45am: In the grand ballroom of the Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center, Roberts will participate in another forum open to all members of the public.

10-10:45 a.m.: In the boardroom of the Auburn University Hotel & Conference Center, Roberts will meet with the university’s Board of Trustees.

1-1:30 p.m.: At the governor’s office at the Alabama State Capitol, Roberts will meet with Governor Ivey.

2 p.m.-3 p.m.: In room 221 of the Taylor Center on the AUM campus, Roberts will participate in another open forum.

3-3:45 p.m.: On Zoom, Roberts will participate in a forum with off-campus employees and stakeholders. Click here to attend.
