LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Tippecanoe School Corp. will host a series of meetings to educate parents on a variety of school safety issues.
The first forum is Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium of McCutcheon High School.
TSC’s Director of Safety and Security, Aaron Gilman, will provide information on the company’s emergency preparedness plans and initiatives. He will also share resources for parents who are worried about bullying, social media and more.
“This is an opportunity for us to build our relationship with our community and our TSC families so they can have some confidence with our safety measures that we already have in place,” Gilman said.
Gilman told News 18 that the forums will focus on additional student and parent topics throughout the school year.
“But also to give them an opportunity to provide feedback. If they see some areas that they’re concerned about, maybe reassure them that we’ve already thought about it and have a plan in place,” Gilman said. “If it’s something we haven’t thought of, make sure we address those issues in the future.”
TSC officials hope the forums will bring the community together to address growing concerns from schools across the country.
